Charitable status
United Welfare Union Hong Kong Limited is a charitable institution exempt from tax under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap. 112). Donations of HK$100 or more are tax-deductible in Hong Kong, and we issue a receipt for every confirmed donation.

How donations are handled
Every donation is recorded against the appeal or fund it was given to. Nothing is counted towards an appeal total until we have matched the transfer and confirmed it. Zakat is kept separate and distributed only to those eligible to receive it.
Tax-deduction receipts
We issue a Section 88 receipt for every confirmed donation where the donor has given us their details. Donations of HK$100 or more are tax-deductible in Hong Kong.
