Our history
United Welfare Union was established in Hong Kong in 2002, working for the betterment of youth and providing basic services for ethnic minorities. In 2007 it was recognised as a non-profit charitable organisation under Section 88 by the Hong Kong Government.
Where we are today
We currently run three locations across Hong Kong: Masjid Ismail in Tung Chung and Masjid Ibrahim in Mong Kok, each a masjid and a madrassah, and Madrassah Taleem-ul-Quran in To Kwa Wan.
Our mission
- Support ethnic-minority families with the practical help they need to settle and thrive in Hong Kong.
- Give young people education, mentoring and a route into work.
- Maintain places to pray, learn and gather as a community.
- Handle every donation openly, and account for it.
Our centres
